Privacy Policy and Cookies

General information

This privacy policy and cookie policy set out the rules governing the processing and protection of personal data, as well as the use of cookies and other technologies, such as Google Analytics and Facebook Pixel, in connection with the use of the website, online shop and social media profiles operated by the Controller.


§1. Definitions

For the purposes of this privacy policy, the following definitions apply:

  • GDPR / General Data Protection Regulation – Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, which also applies in Norway through the EEA Agreement.

§2. Personal data

The data controller for the User’s personal data is the Administrator (Nordic Vida AS).

The user may provide personal data to the Administrator through, for example, forms on the website and in the online shop, as well as via messaging services and social media.

The legal basis for the processing of personal data is the User’s voluntary, specific, informed and unambiguous consent, given via forms on the website.

Personal data may also be processed where the Controller has a lawful basis for doing so under applicable law, in order to fulfil a contract with the User, or on the basis of a legitimate interest.

Personal data provided via the order form is processed in order to fulfil the purchase agreement entered into via the online shop or website.
Legal basis: Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR (necessary for the performance of a contract).
Providing personal data is voluntary, but necessary in order to enter into the contract.
The data is stored for as long as necessary to fulfil the contract, comply with legal obligations (e.g. for accounting and tax purposes) and in the event of any legal claims.

Personal data provided via the newsletter subscription form is processed for the purpose of providing a service containing information about news, promotions and offers.
Legal basis: Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR (performance of a contract for the provision of the newsletter).
Providing this information is voluntary, but necessary in order to receive the newsletter.
The user may unsubscribe from the service at any time via the unsubscribe link in the newsletter or by sending an email to info@nordicvida.no.

Personal data sent via the contact form or by email to the Administrator is processed for the purpose of responding to your enquiry.
Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR (legitimate interests – customer communication).
Providing this information is voluntary, but necessary in order to receive a response.
The data is stored until the correspondence has been concluded and for up to two years thereafter.

Personal data provided via the comment form is used to display the User’s comment or review.
Legal basis: Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR (consent).
The data is stored for as long as the website exists or until consent is withdrawn.


The Administrator may entrust the processing of personal data to third parties who assist with the above-mentioned purposes (e.g. hosting providers, accountants, transport companies, email marketing services).

Personal data will not be transferred to third countries outside the EEA that do not ensure an adequate level of protection. In the event of any transfer, there must be a valid legal basis in accordance with Chapter V of the GDPR.

The administrator guarantees the confidentiality and secure processing of all personal data received, in accordance with:

  • The EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR),
  • The Personal Data Act (2018),
  • The Electronic Communications Act.

§3. Users’ rights

The user has certain rights regarding the processing of their personal data, including:

  • the right to access one’s own data,
  • the right to have data rectified,
  • the right to restriction of processing,
  • the right to object to treatment,
  • the right to erasure (‘the right to be forgotten’),
  • the right to data portability,
  • the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority (the Norwegian Data Protection Authority) if the User believes that the processing is in breach of the regulations.

The user may withdraw their consent at any time if the processing is based on consent.

§4. Cookies and other information

When the User uses the website, technical data such as IP address, domain name, browser type and operating system is collected automatically.
Such data may be collected via cookies and server logs.

  • Google Analytics – to analyse website statistics and usage.
  • Facebook Pixel – to manage and optimise advertising on Facebook.

Data collected via these tools is used solely for anonymous analysis and to improve our services; it is not used to identify individual users.

The result of these technologies is the optimisation of the website, its content and product range in line with the user’s needs.


§5. Purpose of data use

Data provided by the User or collected automatically is used by the Administrator to:

  • ensure the proper functioning, configuration and security of the website,
  • monitor session status (session management),
  • carry out analyses, measurements and statistical work,
  • fulfil agreements entered into via the website,
  • as well as for statistical and marketing purposes.

§6. Final provisions

This policy may be amended as a result of technological developments, changes in the law or further development of the website and online shop.
